My personal thoughts are that people are who they are.

Some people are only going to drop to earn credits, and this is ok because YOU earn credits from them too, and some people are going to take the time, read a post, leave a comment, because its the right thing to do, or because they're just interested and interactive.

Another idea I've been kicking around is phasing out entirely the credits you receive from dropping, and double the credits you receive from receiving. But this too is a bad idea, I think, because I think that little 1 credit motivation gets a lot of people visiting a lot of blogs.
